Je Tu Na Fadda Baah…

Aur aakhir-kaar fadd hi lii... [And at last He took hold..].

Yes, that’s how it happened..
In fact, during all this period mentioned above, even before meeting Guruji in Rishikesh, something had started happening in my life, the first day I joined my first course. It was a process of transformation, a process of realization with some profound experiences. It was a process of transforming the tendency to Giving from Wanting, to approaching Unconditional from Conditionality, of Rising in Love from Falling in..!!

My connection with Gurudev has been of one on one, without any intermediates. He is like a personalized trainer for each of His disciples, creating situations in life for each of them and makes them go through those in the most natural of manners possible, without even making them realise it. It is when that disciple goes through such situations, knowledge blossoms in him. And it is a continuous process.

So, I think, that was one such time for me. During that period, I was going through a great emotional transformation. I was experiencing some very profound emotions, which often used to put me in a lot of emotional pain and longing, but at the same time, were opening up my heart also and purifying it too. So it was a very delicate time and during one such period, I was in a lot of pain and all I wanted was to see Him, as there seemed no other way of getting relieved from it.

So, I came to know that Guruji would be there in Noida for a day and I decided to go there. I went there with a lot of anticipation this time.
I reached there. It was Oct 30, 2010. Guruji was inside someone’s house and some 100-200 people were there waiting outside. I was waiting very anxiously. After a while He came out and the whole crowd just enveloped Him. He was looking at all of us one by one.

The pain in my heart was visible on my face too. I was expecting that He say me something to relieve me, but the chaos surrounding Him was too much. In between, when He looked at me, He gave a concerned look, but couldn’t talk. Then, after some time, after meeting all, while He was going back, I was very near to Him, with just one or two persons in between, and was reaching out to Him by my hand. A lot of pushing and all was going around and suddenly some of us felt like falling down. Suddenly I felt, that someone had held my finger to keep me from falling down, and when I saw who that was..??
It was none other than my beloved Gurudev...!!!
I was feeling absolutely elated having known it.

For a person reading it, it may be very normal thing to happen, but for me, it was a silent message given by Him, that “Ghabrao mat, girne nahi dunga..” [Don’t worry, I’ll not let you fall down my dear..]. It sent down a lot of relief in my aching heart. It conveyed that message, that no matter what the situation in life was, He was there to take care and hold the things together.

What He does is all very spontaneous and it looks very natural, very innocent and you even start doubting, “Did He really do that??”, but I tell you, that is how a Master works, He knows it all, but still maintains that wonderful non-doer ship and innocence about it. The one who is connected can only feel it, for others, it’s just another coincidence.
But when so many coincidences start happening in life, then better we put aside our brain, and start thinking with heart. It’s then only, that we can feel the grace flowing through into our lives.

Then after a while, He turned to me, and asked, “Tu kya karta hai..” [What do you do?] and I stumbled and couldn’t say anything except my profession L, “Guruji, Infosys Chandigarh me job karta hu..” [Guruji, I do a job in Infosys Chandigarh]. I thought, “How silly am I, as couldn’t say anything else?”. But thats how it is, the mind doesn’t work in His presence and more than all this, it was the experience when He spoke to me that mattered. It seemed like there were only He and I present among that crazy crowd around and all else was seeming void. It felt like time had slowed down for both of us but was running a bit quickly for others.
Truly.., it was magnificent; something can’t be explained in words..!! J

Kriya Karvani Hai Ya Nahi..

Well, it happened one night. I had gone to Sumedha Talwar’s home, senior Art of Living teacher, regarding some work. While coming back, someone from her house dropped me in Sec 4, Panchkula market. It was around 9.30 PM. I asked to hire an auto, but it was demanding too much, so I moved and thought I would find some other ahead. So I moved out of market, but after a while I realized that it would not be easy to find any auto at that time. I waited there for some time, and at last, losing any apparent hope to find one, I started walking as standing there also was of no use either. My house was some 6-7 kms away and that day, I had not done Sudarshan Kriya also. I had to do that at night, as I never miss it at any cost.

So that night, it was already around 10 PM by then. I was very tired too and it was looking like I had to cover at least 2-3 kms on foot to find any auto to reach home, and that would have made me very tired and nearly 11:30 PM or so to reach home. So I was finding it a bit tough. While walking, I was constantly searching for anything to drop me, but there was nothing around. So while thinking it all, a thought came to mind, and I asked Guruji, “Guruji, aaj Kriya karvani hai ya nahi..??” [Guruji, you want me to do Kriya tonight or not..??] and as soon as this thought vanished and I looked back, I saw an auto rickshaw coming my way. A ray of hope lighted inside me. I waved my hand to it and it stopped near me. What I saw was that the autowala was not looking for passengers, but was teaching some kid how to drive auto.!! I asked him if he could drop me, and he agreed at a very reasonable price.

I was feeling very relaxed and overwhelmed by the way His grace flows, and the way He listens to ‘each of us’ 24/7 no matter where we are.

One more similar incident happened during my latest visit to Guruji. Guruji had come to Delhi and I just couldn’t hold myself back from meeting Him. So I went to Delhi, It was July 20, 2011. There were a few others also from Chandigarh along. Guruji were scheduled to arrive at airport. I headed towards it, but being late, I couldn’t reach there in time and Guruji left. He went to Gurgaon. So I changed my route to Gurgaon and reached where He was staying. There I had to wait till evening to see Him. He came and we had a fantastic satsang. Afterwards, we bid adieu to Him and decided to come back overnight. It was 10.15 PM. We were in Gurgaon and had to take a metro to ISBT Delhi to catch the bus. The last metro departs at 11 PM. So, we, four of us, went to the roadside to catch an auto, but nothing was available there. We were vigorously searching for something to take us to metro station. Finally just 20 mins were left and I thought that if not now, then we would be in a big discomfort, as we were all very tired also.

So, I decided to use the final arrow in my arsenal, I closed my eyes while standing on the road, and prayed Gurudev, “Guruji yaar kuch karo, verna samasya ho jayegi..” [Guruji, please do something dear, else it would become difficult..]. I ask Him for such minor things as the last option, when nothing else works. As soon as I finished my prayer, with the eyes still closed, I felt light beaming into my eyes. As I was on the road, so I instantly opened my eyes, fearing that someone could ram a car into me. What I saw was two Sumos and they stopped near us…!! I just couldn’t believe what had just happened. Earlier there used to be some reaction time of seconds, but now, even that was gone!! How amazing..!!! I told this to one of my fellow, and He was also surprised. I was feeling overwhelmed by the way He was listening to us and it further strengthened my faith, that we are being taken care of.
We hired one of the Sumos and managed to reach the station just in time. As we climbed to the platform, the metro had just arrived, and we rushed in
J

Once someone asked Guruji that how He comes to know when anyone calls Him from anywhere as there are millions around, how exactly does he come to know??
And He smilingly replied, “There are so many hair in your head, but even if any is pulled, you come to know na? That’s how I come to know..”

Isn’t it wonderful?? J

“Mee Tooo..”

The long awaited wait was finally going to get over for the Tricity. It was time for Guruji to come to Chandigarh. There was a lot of anticipation and enthusiasm in the air for Guruji’s Visit to Chandigarh. I had called my Mother also for it.

Guruji arrived in Chandigarh, it was Nov 9, 2010 and we all went to Airport to receive Him. Afterwards we were chasing Him the whole day and it didn’t finish until He went to sleep. But I had not been able to meet Him thus far, as the crowd was too much. Next day, He was scheduled to depart to Ludhiana. But next morning, I got information from my friend that He was at someone’s home and not many people were there. So, I along with Ankit and Varun went there. There weren’t too many people around, but we were not allowed to go inside. Aakash Bhaiya, my first course teacher was guarding the entrance and despite requesting a no of times, I was asked to wait for some time.

Don’t know if I am right or wrong, but the attitude of these teachers change when Guruji is around. They become more formal and strict. May be, they are right on their part, as otherwise, chaos would spread and things would become very difficult to handle, but from a devotee’s point of view, like me, it becomes very painful.

So, he asked me to wait for some time. Meanwhile I had plucked a flower to give it to Guruji. Aakash Bhaiya told me to do some seva and transfer some of Guruji’s luggage from one car to another. While I was doing that, Guruji’s car came out and I had both my hands loaded up to neck with gifts that people had presented Him earlier. I thought, “He is gone now and I won’t be able to meet Him”. As the car passed by my side slowly, I took some steps towards it with my hands still loaded. Seeing it, Guruji asked to stop the car, and brought down the window glass. I looked at Him and He looked at me. Nobody else was there to disturb. And then, all I could say to Him was, “Love you Guruji” somehow handing over the flower to Him from my pocket, as the hands were still loaded, and He replied in His own characteristic manner, showing a ‘V’ sign touching His heart, meaning, “Mee tooo..”. It is inexplicable how I felt to hear that, it was sooo touching and so soothing.

The happiness that we feel, when we get to hear from the person, whom we love so much, also loves us, is beyond words to be explained and it multiplies a thousand folds when a Master says this as His Love is divine and unconditional.

It was not over by then, He came back after some time and I along with some other people had the privilege to sit very near to Him for some 15-20 mins.

The next day, there was a satsang in Ludhiana, and this time also, I just couldn’t resist going there. So, I along with three other friends, Ashima, Shweta and Varun decided to go. We hired a taxi and headed to Ludhiana.
To describe this trip, I’ll not be wasting any more words of English. The essence of it lies in the following lines written by me.

*

I hope these words suffice those moments.

The satsang in Ludhiana was one of the most amazing statangs that I have been a part of. On this trip, I had an experience in which He taught me, that it is the bhaav which is important than anything else, and this is what gets manifested in presence of the Master, and that too in the most natural of manners possible.

We had a great time there. While we were going, I had seen large flex hoardings of Guruji on the light poles alongside road and the pic of Guruji on it was too lovely not to be taken along and I had decided that I would carry one while going back. So while going back, at midnight, I climbed on one of the pillars and pulled down one such hoarding, removed the flex photo and happily carried it along, only to be pasted in my room’s wall. J

Ravelling into Infinity..

After this meeting, quite a few days passed without meeting Him and the desire to see Him was growing ever so quickly. Quite a lot had changed during this period and I had somethings to ask Him too.

So, now, after some three months, it was time to meet Guruji, physically, in Jaipur on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. I was waiting for it for quite a long time and was very excited about going there. There were a lot of people travelling to Jaipur from Panchkula and Chandigarh on this occasion. So I planned my trip with Panchkula group. We had Singla Ji, Anita Ji, Rohilla Ji and few other people with us. After all the drama that happened, with two of my friends Ashima and Shweta, who had also decided to come along with us, missing the train (although they joined us the next day), I finally reached Jaipur. It was Mar 1, 2011 and after getting refreshed in the hotel, we roamed around a bit in the city on that day. We saw Guruji at night when He arrived in Jaipur. The next day was Maha Shivratri and it was going to be a grand event. We had a Maha Sudarshan Kriya [Sudarshan Kriya done in a big group] planned the next morning and in the evening we were going to have the Mahasatsang.
So the next day, in evening, though there was a huge crowd that had turned up from all corners of the globe, we managed to get seats at a pretty nice place. Melodious bhajans were going on and the whole atmosphere was jublient. It was a festival like environment, but I was somehow not in that festive mood. After waiting for a while, Guruji came and everyone seemed charged up. He first walked through us on the ramp, showering His Love on all and then started doing Rudra Pooja, in the most ancient and vedic manner with the reciting of mantras by trained Brahmins, who had come all the way from Bangalore.
After the pooja, Guruji sat on His seat and went into deep meditation. Soulful Shiv bhajans were being sung by eminent Art of Living singers. Each word and melody of those were stirring the soul and plucking every string of the heart. People were swaying in joy and devotion and I was in a dilemma whether to keep my eyes fixed on Guruji or meditate with Him in His Divine aura. After some tussle in the mind, I decided to meditate for some time, till He opens His eyes. But before sitting for the meditation, I told someone to let me know when Guruji open eyes. I sat in meditation. After a while I was feeling a rush all around me, but I kept my eyes closed thinking that that person would let me know if anything happens. But that person was keeping to my words ‘when Guruji opens eyes’ literally. So she didn’t tell me anything. Suddenly someone pinged me to stand up. I hastily stood up and what I saw was absolutely mesmerizing. Gurudev were in ‘Bhaav Samadhi’[Total ecstasy], acquiring a position similar to that of Shiva holding a Trishul.... and Ravelling into Infinity..!!!
For those who are completely unaware of it, it is a state when you go beyond the mind and intellect and your consciousness becomes one with the universal divine consciousness.
It was a magnificent site to watch. I had been longing for long to see Gurudev in Bhaava. I had learnt about Yogis going into this state during my years of spiritual reading, but still hadn’t witnessed it. I had once read that when Swami Vivekanada used to take up meditation seesions in West, he used to go into deep samadhi and their disciples used to find it almost impossible to bring him back to normal. So people, after waiting for long periods, used to return back. When Swamiji came to know about it, he told them a word, which when spoken in his ear during such state, would help bring him back to normal state soon.
So, that was the day to witness it as well. Though it didn’t require us to speak any word in Guruji’s ears :P. I was spellbound and the energy in the atmosphere was something to be felt. It remained like that for a few minutes and Gurudev came back to the world after some time.

Guruji doing Rudra Pooja (Before Bhaav Samadhi)
And when He opened His eyes after that, I could see the love sparkling in His eyes had multiplied a thousand folds. Those were gleaming with Divine Love and the best word if I could use for that would be ‘Khudai-Noor’. He had that Khudai-Noor in those beautiful eyes of His and His every expression; every movement of body was so much full of it as it seemed He was still there on some different plane than us. He again walked through us on the ramp nearby us, looking at all of us and showering flowers & His Love on us. The crowd went absolutely berserk.
Really, those moments were something to be treasured in heart J

My Tour Planner..

Soon afterwards, it was time for Guruji to visit Haryana. During His visit, He visited quite a few places, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Hisar, Karnal, Kurukshetra and how could have I held myself back when He was in my home state? J
So, Guruji first went to Rohtak and the next day He was in Bhiwani. It was Mar 18, 2011. There was a satsang in Bhiwani that day at 11 in the morning. I had come from Chandigarh to Hisar, my apparent hometown, the previous night for it. In the morning I got really late and headed to Bhiwani from Hisar at around 10 AM. I took a bus and normally it takes 1-1.5 hours, but on that day, it was strolling and stopping like a local EMU. All during the journey, I was thinking that I was going to reach late and might not be able to meet Him, as He was to head back to Hisar after the satsang. I was saying within, “Agar milna hi nahi tha to fir bulaya kyun” [Why have you called me, when you don’t want to meet me] as the bus was getting more and more delayed due to some silly reasons. But finally I reached, rushed to the venue and managed to reach there by 12.30 PM. The satsang was over by then. As I was entering the venue, people were coming out, but unmindful of all that, I was rushing in to get a glimpse of His. When I reached inside, I saw some people coming down the stage as He had just left. I ran towards them pushing aside the crowd and finally when I reached up to Him, the last vehicle of His caravan was leaving. It was a Gypsy, open from back. One person was sitting behind and as I ran towards it, he landed me a hand and pulled me into the vehicle. I was a bit relieved and running out of breath. Then we followed Guruji. He reached at someone’s home and His car drove in, but by the time I reached there, they had closed the main gate. I requested to open, but they didn’t listen. I was looking at Guruji through the gate. He came out of the car, and I waved my hand towards Him and shouted, “Gurujiii….”. He saw me and asked them to open the gate. I rushed near Him. My breath was still very fast. I quietly stayed behind Him very closely, but in a sort of disbelief. He entered the house and was given a very traditional welcome, first worshiped, His feet imprints taken and then the feet washed with water. When they started washing His feet with milk, He stopped them and said, “Nahi nahi, doodh nahi” [No no, no milk] and I was moved by His concern for the adequate use of resources. Then He sat there, and let me tell you, I was the first person to bow to His feet in that house. He looked into my eyes, and there was desperation in those and I was still running out of breath. He smiled and then a thought with a little sense of show off came to mind, something like “Dekho mai bhag ke aaya hun” [See I have came here running] and He didn’t take more than a second to read it. L

Guruji in Bhivani when I met Him.

But, such is the grace of the Master. He knew that I was coming there and despite my thoughts that whether I would be able to meet Him or not, He had arranged the meeting for me so closely and so beautifully that i couldn’t have imagined and that too with the series of events looking so natural.
He stayed there for some time and then He moved to some other place. Now I didn’t know where He had gone. I was thinking that what do I do now, should I go back to Hisar, as He was also scheduled to depart for it after some time, or should I follow Him? As going by my own would have taken me at least 3 hours to reach Hisar. While thinking about all this, some ladies came there and hired an auto to reach the place where He’d gone. I requested them as can I also come along and they agreed. I reached that place and waited there for some time, as He was eating His lunch there. From there He was to head directly to Hisar and I was not finding any way to reach there in time. I asked many people if they could also take me along, but none agreed. So I was silently praying Him that “Take me along as well”. I was so desperate that i was thinking that if this time you take me to Hisar, then I would believe that you really listen to me.
After some time, He came out, and somehow managed to reach the car after handling so many pushes for the devotees. He came to His customary seat, the front one, and waved to the crowd. I was near the driver’s seat and was intensely but silently praying Him, that take me along also. He was looking as if unmindful of all, so innocent and natural. He sat in the car and car drove. I thought, “He’s gone”. But as soon as He left, there was a vehicle behind His car. A lady and a guy were sitting inside. I asked her if I can come along, and she agreed. I was feeling so happy and grateful to Him, as this time also, He demonstrated to me that He was listening. Later while going along I found that the lady was mother of my Class 10th school mate, Lavish Gupta, and He was the one driving Guruji’s car. She couldn’t get a seat even in her own car and I was hoping for one for myself J.
Then after reaching Hisar, I reached where He was staying. I called my mother also there, as this was the best place to get a better glimpse of His. She was also longing to meet Him. She came there. I also called my bua there as she was to come to Hisar to attend the satsang. I had asked her for a pagri  for Guruji to bring from Rajasthan. All while sitting there I was praying that, “Guruji, please meet my mom here if not me” as the last time she was not able to meet Him in Chandigarh, and in the disappointment, she was fuming at me J. And although, He had met me quite a few times here, I was still longing for that special look of His and His special attention, which I found missing so far.
Suddenly, after some time He came down, and immediately got crowded by people. I called my mother near Him and pushed her through the crowd. She finally met Him and He also gave His blessings to her. Then it was my turn. I met Him and gave Him a loving hug and then He looked at me and said something like, “Tum ab jao vahan satsang venue par aur logon ko line me baithao” [You go there at the satsang venue now and make people sit in the rows]. I said, “Ok Guruji”. By that time my bua had also came there, but was not allowed to enter due to heavy rush. So I went near the gate and asked for His pagri. She handed it over to me, and when I approached Him with it in my hands, He eagerly took it from me, and put that over His head, as if He was expecting it and waiting for it. It was a beautiful yellow traditional Rajasthani style pagri and was looking very beautiful on Him. I was feeling so elated and like over the moon. He then again asked me, “To tum vahan ja rahe ho na” [You are going there na for sure] and I said, “Yes Guruji”, wondering that He remembers and means what He says amidst all the chaos around. I just smiled broadly at Him and all that could came out of my mouth was “Love you Guruji..” and He looked into my eyes with those broad penetrative and beautiful smiling eyes, full of Divine Love and gestured in His customary way, making a ‘V’ near His heart, meaning “Me too”. I came out, hugged my mom in ecstasy and left for the venue.
To sum up, here are a few lines by me:
*
रांझा-रांझा करते-करते मै रांझा हो गया..॥
जब तुमने कहा “मै तेरा”, तो सब मेरा हो गया..॥
अब तक तो नही था खुद का भी, पर अब.. मै तेरा हो गया…॥

That time while going to that venue, once again I realised how He listens to each and every prayer of ours and fulfils them too, like meeting me in Bhiwani, taking me back along, meeting my mom and giving me that personal attention, for which I was longing. It was looking like on that day, He was keen on fulfilling each and every wish of mine.
I reached the venue and started making people sit in the rows properly, asking them very politely and very patiently. People were like determined to demolish the seating plan and often I had to come across their high tempers, as after all it was Haryana ;), but I kept my cool, thinking I am doing my Master’s job. After some time, people started to pour in. Though I had given away my desire to get a front seat for myself despite having passes for myself and family, I wanted to make the family sit properly, but they were all too late to arrive for it. Meanwhile I got a volunteer pass from one of the volunteers and then it was time to experience once again His unique style of teaching and showering grace. At one point I was even thinking that whether I would be able to get any seat nearby Him, but then I could walk through every corner of the venue with that volunteer’s pass.
Guruji at Hisar Satsang (Pic not clicked by me)
That day He made me realize that, “You just take a step in doing my work, and I’ll come 100 steps nearer to you to do yours..”
Such is the grace of the Master and His unique style of teaching. J

His Promise..

There is a poem written by Guruji, which makes a lot of sense to a devotee and worth mentioning here before moving forward, as a few promises awaits ahead.. J

If I had to promise you something, what would it be?
I can’t promise that you would always be comfortable…Because comfort brings boredom and discomfort.

I can’t promise that all your desires will be fulfilled…Because desires whether fulfilled or unfulfilled bring frustration.

I can’t promise that there will always be good times…Because it is the tough times that make us appreciate joy.

I can’t promise that we will be rich or famous or powerful…Because they can all be pathways to misery.

I can’t promise that we will always be together…Because it is separation that makes togetherness so wonderful.

Yet if you are willing to walk with me, if you are willing to value love over everything else I promise that this will be the most rich and fulfilling life possible.
I promise your life will be an eternal celebration,
I promise you I will cherish you more than a king cherishes his crown,
And I shall love you more than a mother loves her newborn.

If you are willing to walk into my arms,
If you are willing to live in my heart,
You will find the one you have waited forever….
You will meet yourself in my arms…

I Promise...

This is something eternal and incredibly awesome and a source of strength for someone who has felt the grace flowing through.

As a matter of fact and experience of millions since time immemorial, the words of an Enlightened Master don’t fail. Whatever comes out of his mouth, nature aligns itself to it and starts realizing it. So, when He promises something, it is bound to get realized, without any iota of doubt.., its just that we need to take a step forward J.

That Silent Night...

Guruji left Haryana and few days passed after it. But there was something which had been left unanswered till now and was bombarding my mind over and again for quite some time. It often used to trouble me and I wanted to ask it from Guruji, but perhaps something was holding me back. One day, I heard experiences of one of my friends with Guruji and that encouraged me to ask it from Him this time. Meanwhile, something strange happened between me and Him, on an emotional or rather mental level, which had never happened earlier. Although, as I said, it was just a mental cobweb, but it started bothering me even more. Perhaps, He was preparing the background of what was going to happen next.
So, one day, I came to know that Guruji would be coming to Delhi, but His schedule was not confirmed and I thought it may not be possible for me to meet Him this time owing to my professional commitments. But then I thought, if not now, then I’d be able to meet Him only after one and a half months, in Ashram and I was not ready to wait till then. So, I decided that I’d go.
The night before He came to Delhi, I had a dream in the wee hours of morning. In the dream, I saw Guruji. I saw that He was in some ashram and I was also there. I was following Him with desperation to meet Him and after a while He called me, very characteristically. Then we had a conversation and in the conversation, I asked Him what precisely I wanted to ask. He started thinking over it for a while. I interrupted Him in between and said, “Guruji kal bataoge?” [Guruji, would you tell me tomorrow?] and He nodded and said, “haan-haan, kal bataunga” [Yes-yes, I’ll tell you tomorrow]. I said, “Ok Guruji”. I hugged Him, touched His feet and then went on. Suddenly, I woke and realised, “Oh.. it was a dream”, still in some sort of disbelief as it was as real as it could be. So that moment I decided that now I’ll go to Delhi for sure.
So I reached Delhi that evening, it was Apr 30, 2011. I reached the venue where Guruji were staying. We were three guys, I, Varun Sharma and Ashish Gupta. We had gotten a bit late and could manage to reach there only by 10 PM. We came to know that Guruji had just given darshan to all. But we waited outside hoping that He would come again. Time started to pass moment by moment, first 11… then 12.. and so on, but He didn’t come out. At 12 at night, they told us that Guruji had retired for the day and would not come now. By then, Ashish and most of the crowd waiting outside had left and I along with the other guy Varun, decided that we would stay outside the whole night, and will go only after meeting Him tomorrow morning as we had no place to stay either there in Delhi that late at night.
So, we sat outside the gate, not in any sort of protest, that “Oh.. why haven’t you met us?”, but with a calm and happy state of mind that, “OK, Guruji, you take rest, we shall see you tomorrow early morning”. At 12 AM, I thought that the second day has started, and Guruji had told me that He would answer my question tomorrow, so I decided that now I’d talk only to Him. So I told Varun, that I am going into silence and now will talk only with Guruji. So I just sat there outside in silence, meditating. There were two more people with us from Delhi itself, and they were also sitting with us. The volunteers there requested us to go somewhere but we refused. Then, at around 12.45 AM, the secretary of Guruji and one other person came down and when they saw us sitting there, they protested and told us that we should move from here along with the local guys to their homes, who agreed, as it presents Gurudev in a bad taste. I agreed with what he said, but as I was in silence, I didn’t say anything, and let Varun handle it all, who was talking with them. But he refused to move from there and they went back annoyed with us. Then one of the local men who was sitting with us also went home. At that time the main gate of the house was open and I just went in and decided that, “OK we’ll stay here if not outside”, but there also we were not allowed to stay by the owner of the house. So we came out once again. The other local guy, Avinash, then pushed us to come along with him and also said that he would drop us back here early morning. So, on his insistence, both of us moved with him on his bike around 1 AM and he took us to his home. He was an Army personnel and he took us to the Army quarters. There, with whatever means he could, he served us like Gods, making “Athithi Devo Bhava” [Guest is God] literally true. We stayed there for just a few hours. Slept for an hour, took bath and he came back to drop us at Guruji’s place at 5 AM. We were so thankful to him for the generosity and hospitality with which he served.
Nobody was there, except three of us. We sat there, and time started ticking, second by second, minute by minute, and by each passing minute, my longing to meet Him was getting intense. It became 6.., few people came by then, then 7.., few more people came, but Guruji or any news of His arrival was nowhere to be seen. I was a bit disappointed, as how would have I been able to talk with Him then with so many people around? Then at 7.30, we got inside the main gate, and after a few minutes, suddenly, Gurudev came.
Enveloped in His divine aura and with that ever smiling face, He was approaching towards me, meeting one by one with all the devotees, around 40-50 there, sitting in line. As He was nearing towards me, my heart beat started increasing like the speed of a train. The breaths got heavier and heavier, and as He came to me, I just stood up, gathered my strength, and with a choked voice and trembling body, breaking my silence, told Him those two things, that I had literally rehearsed a numerous times in my mind over the past 24 Hrs and also had prayed that He gave me enough strength so that I could ask Him. And then very keenly listening to me, looking at me and also looking at what I was showing Him, He showered some words of grace, some insight and some ‘promises’ on me. Those moments, those words were something which will remain unforgettable for me. Those were immensely soothing and strengthening. After that, I hugged Him gently and He patted three times on my shoulder. But before that, one of the volunteers told Guruji, that we were sitting outside the whole night, and Gurudev said, “Tum log aisa kyun karte ho?” (“Why do you do like this?”). I replied in a mild voice, “Nahi guruji hum chale gaye the” (“No Guruji, we finally went”), but I doubt if He heard that. Then He moved forward a step, Varun was sitting, Guruji blessed him, and then suddenly looked back and said, “Mujhe bhi kal raat ek baje tak neend nahi aayi” (“I also could not sleep till 1 AM last night”). Both, I and Varun were shocked to hear that and were staring at each other’s face, not knowing whether to cry or laugh, wondering that He knew it all, as by no way anyone could have told Him when we left. Nobody was even there to see that we had left at 1 AM.
This is what the heart of a Guru is made of, if a devotee is not sleeping, then how can a Guru sleep? He has that love and compassion for each and all. He knows where we are, what we feel like and what we are doing. Now, I realise that why that local guy, Avinash was staying there with us that night. It was all due to His will. I even feel that had we called Him that night, He would have even come out to meet us, but we were sitting there with a different bhaav.
Then Guruji moved forward, but I was like in another world, unable to absorb the moment and drenched in His Divine Love. I felt like, I had still more to say, or rather listen from Him as He had answered only the latter of my queries. So, I rushed to the starting point of the looped queue. After a while, when Guruji came back completing the loop, I was the last one there. I again repeated the same thing to Him, and He looked into my eyes, patted on my shoulder, and said something..., something.. after which nothing was left to be sought!!! He had ‘promised’ me much more than I had asked for. Saying those few golden words, He moved upstairs. Unable to believe what had just happened, my heart swell up and the emotions started to flow out. I kept sitting there and closed my eyes, and soon I was crying and sobbing like a baby. It continued that way, and after sometime, when I opened my eyes, no one was there except a volunteer. I recollected myself and came out.
When I was coming to Delhi the previous day, I was thinking that all my meetings with Him have been so adventurous so far. How will He meet me this time, and would He listen to me and answer? Such things were going on in my mind, but one thing that was sure was that, I would not come back without meeting Him and asking what I wanted to. And it could not have been more adventurous than this. The way He works is really-really amazing and unfathomable, and perhaps it is not possible for a human mind to understand Him.
After coming out, I was feeling very light and happy, and I could feel His grace had again started to flow through me, once again...!! J
No more words, silence dawns... . . .

The Mad Scramble..

The Mad Scramble.. yes that is how it is!!
I have seen Formula One races on TV, but that happens on the tracks specially designed for it and under certain rules, but the chasing race that happens behind Guruji’s car on the busy chaotic roads of Delhi in broad daylight, full of traffic and without any rules, except that no car crosses Guruji’s car, is nothing but a mad scramble. This is simply an astonishing and thrilling experience to be a part of such chase. Though, personally I and even Guruji are against such crazy acts, and He constantly keeps saying all to be patient, but as has been said, there are no rules in Love and War.

I have been a part of such races a few times, and I tell you, it’s no less than a miracle how these cars survive those near scary escapes. Just imagine, cars speeding at 100-120 kmph amid that heavy and chaotic Delhi traffic, trying to overtake each other without caring either for their own safety or others and still come out clean is simply extraordinarily amazing. If somebody could take an aerial view of it, then only one could see what actually happens. Even a Michael Schumacher will find it difficult to drive in that chaos.

But during all that while, Guruji sitting on the front seat of His car, is absolutely relaxed, talking over phone with someone most of the times, and looking like He doesn’t know anything, but I tell you, He is busy doing perhaps the most difficult task of the moment, shielding each and all through that mad rush. Its not just Guruji who is relaxed during that rush, even the people chasing Him are absolutely relaxed without any iota of fear in their hearts about their safety. They have that faith, that all is being taken care of, but I find it a bit too much to ask from Him.

But.., you know, such is the Love of a Devotee and a Master. J

Mile Jab Apne Dilbar se Hum..

What lies ahead is a Historical moment, if not in His but in my life for sure..

Well, it was time for me to go to Ashram, once again. This time, my mother was also accompanying me. I had made her do a Basic course in May, on “May 13”, and wanted her to do an Advance Course in Ashram. So I made the bookings. I had to leave on June 11, 2011. Initially I was very excited, but as the days approached, that excitement vanished somehow. The reason being the turn of events that took place following the Anti-Corruption Movement by Baba Ramdev. I was very hurt with all what had happened. And to add to it, just before I had to leave, Guruji's father also passed away. So, I was not very enthusiastic, but somehow, I decided that I would go ahead with the plans. I came to know that Guruji were going to Haridwar to do the last rites of His father and also meet Baba Ramdev, so I was a bit relieved that something would come out now.

So, we boarded the flight and reached Bangalore and then headed to Mysore for a day. I spent some wonderful time in Mysore reliving the old memories, meeting friends and then came back to Bangalore Ashram. By that time, Guruji had also come back to Ashram. It was June 13. I completed the registration formalities and met Subhasish Rath, Guruji's Personal Attendant & also Aditi’s adopted Brother. I also found a bunch of Yes+ guys from Chandigarh, who were already there; Varun Bali, Vikram Rathore and Manish Sharma and all of them were great guys. I stayed with them instead of my room. In the evening I got to attend the satsang and the next day was going to be my Birthday, to celebrate which with Guruji I had come all the way to Ashram.

So, before the clock ticked 12 at night, Birthday wishes started pouring in. Some wonderful wishes from some really close friends & relatives and the same continued next morning as well. I was busy the whole day accepting the wishes. In the morning, I also went to my mom, who was staying in another housing section and sought her blessings.

I was waiting for the evening very vigorously as I wanted my cake to be cut by Guruji Himself and I had also bought a Pagri for Him. Subhasish Bhaiya had promised me to help me fulfil my wishes. So I ordered a cake in the Ashram Canteen and decided that I'll get it cut during the Darshan Line. Since afternoon, it started raining heavily. The Darshan Line time was 4.30 PM and I had already got late somehow. I rushed taking the cake with me to the Darshan Line along with my mom. My mom has severe knee joints pain, so she could hardly walk and I forcing her to move fast with rain drizzling and some big steps to climb only worsened the situation. In the process of rushing, my mom fell down. Oh.. it was very painful to see that. I somehow helped her to get up and we reached up for the Darshan line. She had tears in her eyes and that was indeed very painful for me to see. Those were more due to the constant sufferings that she was going through due to bodily ailments rather than the pain that she had just experienced. I somehow consoled her and asked her to pray Guruji to take it away.

After some time, we were in Darshan Line. There were a lot of people anxiously waiting for Him to come. I was standing there with a lot of anticipation and excitement. Many people congratulated me when they saw a cake in my hand. I had specifically instructed my mother, that she just pray for her pain to be taken away, than for me, when she meet Guruji, as I know her, she first pray for me than anything else.
Soon Guruji came and chaos erupted, but still, I was very hopeful and my wait got over soon. Guruji came near me and I asked Him that it was my B ‘Day Guruji and I could get my cake cut from Him. I was absolutely ecstatic. When my mother met Guruji, as expected, she prayed for me also along with her ailments to be taken away and I again protested afterwards to her that why did she do that? But you know, that is how the heart of a mother is..!! J

Afterwards, when I was leaving, the gang of my friends caught me up and painted my face with the cake all over. While going back to the room with cake in my hand and my face decorated with it, a number of people greeted me with such love and warmth like they knew me forever and tasted the cake too, which by then had become Guruji's Prasad. It was such joy to experience, when everybody around you was yours. I had never celebrated my B ‘Day with so many people before and the almighty Himself. Finally, I went to my room and got ready for the satsang.

Now, it was the time for my Pagri to get honoured. I took it and rushed to Vishalakshi Mantap. Subhasish Bhaiya was sitting at the entrance and he told me to wait at the gate to offer Pagri to Guruji's. But Vikram forced me to come inside and sit in front. I somehow agreed and went inside and managed a seat in front row also. I was sitting there and anxiously waiting for Him to come. I was also praying Him to accept the pargi. When Guruji came and sat on the dais, a lady sitting in the front row propelled me to go right away and do it.
So, gathering my courage, I reached up to Him, sat on my knees and offered it to Him. He gleefully accepted it and put it on His head. I said, "Guruji aaj mera B’ Day hai" [Guruji, it’s my birthday today] and He said something like, "Haan, maine cake kaata tha" [Yes, I had cut the cake]. But He still honoured me once again putting a garland over me. J
Here are those memorable moments captured, without my knowledge, by a Guru Lover, Amol Sawant, who is a passionate photographer too. Later on, one day I got to meet him and he told me that he had some of my pics of that day. I was too happy to know that and feel really thankful to him and Him.. J

Waiting for Guruji to come..

Wait getting long..

Guruji blessing me with a garland..

Showering His Grace.. J

My mother's Advance Course with Guruji was going to start the next day. She was facing a lot of difficulties due to all the walking that she had to do in the hilly terrain of Ashram, but I asked her to be patient.
That night, after celebrating it all, I went to our room. There, there was a guy, Anshu from Jharkhand, about 20 years old. He was there in the room adjacent to ours and had become very familiar to the Bali group. He had a special talent in him, he was a learned magician. Since the age of 3, he had been learning magic from a very famous magician of India. On our insistence, he agreed to show us a few of it. He said that in magic, around 70-80% are pure tricks and some 20% is real magic, and he was going to show us that 20% real magic. We were seven guys in the room and there he showed us 5 magic acts just under our nose and we were all like had our mouth and eyes wide open in disbelief. That what he showed was absolutely amazing. He was so professional during the acts that we couldn’t get even a hint of what and how he was doing it. But in spite of all that, he was absolutely humble and focused. He said that he had learned it just because he had a passion and he doesn’t use it to harm anyone or for his personal benefits. He resolve was rock solid. Later on, after he went, we all had a very prolonged discussion on what was that, but couldn’t come to any conclusion and even thought of asking Guruji about it, but you know, just couldn’t ask.

So like that, two nights passed in the ashram without actually doing anything. I had decided that during my stay in ashram, I would remain in silence for atleast a couple of days, without doing any Advance Course, for some unobvious reasons, that only a few know J. So, the next day, i.e. on 15th, I decided that I’ll go into silence at night at 12 AM.

Though, I had met Guruji  2-3 times so far, had my cake cut from Him and also offered Him Pagri, but I found that something was missing, something special. In fact, though Guruji smile while meeting each and everyone, but I was missing that special look and smile of His, which you cannot really describe in words. The thought that He somehow didn’t want to meet me had sneaked into my mind. In the evening later, in satsang, I was looking at Him and was feeling like crying. The bhaav of gratitude and longing was making me feel overwhelmed. I also got somewhat ‘naaraaz’ from Him for these obvious reasons.

So, that night, I shifted to my room alone and went into silence at 12 AM, despite some of the friends ridiculing my logic about it. The next day, I woke up, did my sadhana  and went to Gaushala. It was some 2 KM away from my room and an uphill journey. It is a wonderful place to be which has a divine aura and with those herds of cows around, it takes you into the era of Krishna. The cows there in Ashram has some unusually long ears and I got to know that these cows are of the same species of which Krishna grazed in Gokul and it was due to listening the sweet music from Krishna’s flute that their ears prolonged so much.

Cows in the Ashram Gaushala with unusually long ears.
I did some seva there for some time and then was going back. I was a bit tired and stopped at Radha Kunj for some time, which was on my way back. There, while I was sitting in silence, I noticed some arrangements being made and it didn’t take me too long to realize that Guruji would be coming here. I sat there for an hour or so, meditated in that divine space and then headed towards kitchen for lunch, realizing that it would still take some time for Him to come. I had my lunch, did some seva there and then headed back to Radha Kunj. This time, when I reached, it was all set. When I approached near it, an Ashram Sevak stopped me politely saying that some guests were expected and I should not go ahead and I obliged. I sat there near Radha Kunj. After sometime, Guruji came there and entered into a hall. Some guests followed including Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev and some Shankaracharyas perhaps. It was some kind of ceremony I think, related to His father’s demise. I was sitting there peacefully in silence. Sitting there and witnessing all movements of Guruji in between, I was getting Bhaav-vibhor. The longing in my heart was getting intense moment by moment and pain was touching up the throat every now and then. As the time passed, some more people had started to gather around. There were some 20-30 people after some time. But I was still sitting, in pain and meditating, waiting for Him to come out. This time, I had decided, that although I would be near Him, as I can’t be far from Him, but I won’t approach Him if He didn’t want to meet me. As He was about to come out, I opened my eyes from meditation and saw that a security guard was asking people to evacuate. I used some skill there and closed my eyes again into meditative posture, as I knew that in ashram atleast, no one would disturb me while meditating ;). And it worked J. After some time, I opened only one eye to see if all was set :P. And yes, all people had gone and only I was left JJJ. I was the only extra-terrestrial object left there. So when He came out, I walked near Him. But He didn’t look at me and went ahead in Radha Kunj. Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev and other guests followed and then they were sitting in open for the meeting. I was standing outside some 20 meters away from Him. I was just looking at Him and was contended just watching Him. The meeting was going on and all the while I was just looking at Him. In between, for moments, He was also looking at me but the distance was a bit too much. The bhaav, the longing of that 20 meters separation was gaining control over me and finally tears started trickling down my cheeks. I tried to hide them, as I didn’t want to show those to Him to gain sympathy. But you know, He knows it anyway.. He can feel it whether you are 20 meter away or 2000 km away, it does not matter. He can sense the desperation in the air. So during the meeting, He stood up along with the guests and while talking, just sneaked out very casually and innocently. He very slowly started walking towards me in a zigzag manner. He came near me and was standing some 2-3 meters away, but still didn’t look at me. The pain in my heart had become really intense and had fully choked my throat by then. But I was somehow managing myself standing there and looking at Him.

Then suddenly, He turned towards me and came near me. He said a few words... I tried but lost control over my emotions and broke down. I could barely reply. It was like a mother asking affectionately from a child, “Kya chahiye tuje.. bol..”, after he had wept for a long time and the child still not able to speak properly. Such was my state. Words were not coming out of my mouth. I was sobbing and stuttering. My mind was absolutely blank and didn’t know what I wanted or what to say? He talked to me for a few minutes, asking me a few things and telling a few. I had just surrendered to His words and will at that time. He was talking so innocently as if He knew nothing about me. We talked for a while and then we were just standing close to each other. I had nothing to say and was just looking at Him in a sort of disbelief, as if it was really real what was happening..?? It was unbelievable. This whole meeting lasted for around 10 minutes, ‘G’ and Me all alone, with nobody to disturb. It was like a dream come true and truly Historical for me.

'G'uruji with me during that Historical Meeting.. J

To describe this meeting, I have written a few words, which though are not capable enough to express it fully, but still..
*

Guruji with Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev during that meeting.
Then, after a while He along with the other guests left from there.

I didn’t realize that time, but when I came back, I remembered I had written a letter for Guruji and sent it to Him via Varun Sharma, my colleague, on His B’ day, on May 13. In that letter I had written, “ Guruji, I am coming to Ashram on my B’ Day and please spare 10 mins of yours for me”. Initially I was writing 2 mins, but then I thought, lets demand something big, and I wrote 10 mins and... Oh My God..!!! He read that letter and fulfilled my wish. This is extraordinarily amazing to see that to which level He takes care of us. Isn’t it unbelievable.., and what is more unbelievable is the manner in which He does it. We cannot even imagine His way of doing things even in our wildest of imaginations. He always looks so innocent, so natural and yet knows and plans everything so well, like He often say, “spontaneously well planned”.
Now I scold myself, why didn’t I ask for something bigger, but.. you know, that is how it is.. J
Afterwards.., every time He met me, He gave me that special look and smile.

I had written a poem for Guruji a few months earlier, and wanted to read it out to Him in satsang. So that evening, I prepared myself for it but was very nervous to do so. The satsang got over, but I couldn’t do it. I thought, I’ll do it the next day. Though I was in silence the next day also, but I didn’t mind reading out a poem to Him. So I prepared myself to read it on that evening satsang. Once again, I was feeling very nervous to read it out and also didn’t get a chance to do so. So two days passed like that. Two days of make-up gone wasted... :p. The next day was June 18, the day of my last satsang of the trip, as I had to go back on June 19. My silence was also over that day. So that evening, I thought it was the last chance and during the satsang, I prayed to Guruji also to allow me to read it. Surprisingly, that evening, I was very relaxed and even though I was very late for satsang, I managed to get a seat in front near the singers. So Guruji came, sat there and started answering Qs from people. I also had a question in my mind which I wanted to ask. So I wrote it down and passed it to the one who was asking it for all. It was written in English. Guruji were also responding to the Qs in English first. He answered many Qs and then the mike was taken by the one asking Qs in Hindi. She started, but Guruji interrupted her at once and said, lets complete the English Qs first. So, the person started asking the English Qs again. As he started, I realised that it was the Q that I had written, it was my Q and would you believe, it was the last English Q that was pending. So in a way, Guruji didn’t want to disappoint me in any way whatsoever. Then some Hindi Qs were asked and Q-Ans session got over. Usually, Guruji compulsorily take a meditation session in satsangs immediately after the Q-Ans, but that day, after the Qs, He remained quiet and everyone else was also quiet. So realising, that this is my chance, I stood up and said, “Guruji maine kuch linee likhi hai aapke liye” [Guruji, I have written a few lines for you], and He replied, “Line likhi hai... padho..” [Written lines.. ok read..] and I started. I started in a very balanced voice and what followed afterwards was an overwhelming response from a crowd of thousands sitting there. Almost after each stanza, there were scores of clapping all over. People were appreciating it a lot. After it was over, Guruji responded in His own unique humorous way. I was absolutely delighted and ecstatic with people around giving thumbs up..!!
I’ll post this poem in the next post, ‘The Real Essence’ and can be read there, and this whole thing is there on YouTube too.

The video of the poem only.

Here is the complete satsang video of that day. The poem section is starting from 34th minute to 36th minute of the video.

Complete video of the satsang.

What I realised then was that, He wanted me to read it out for my own happiness and appreciation, because as far as the poem was concerned, I had already handed it over to Him a few months ago in Delhi in written format. So He must have already read it, but still did it all for my happiness. After the satsang, I was receiving congratulatory messages and that continued even the next day. Instantly I had become a recognisable face in the ashram. :p :D Some people asked for its copy too, and I shared it with them.

Vishalakshi Mandap in its full glory.
The next day was my last day of the trip. There was a pooja in the morning for Guruji’s father. After the pooja, I was standing outside the Yagyashala and I saw Bau and Dinesh. I requested them for a photo and they instantly agreed. There was a very simple guy in white Kurta Pyjama standing near them and talking to them. I requested him if he could click it for me, and he happily agreed. After that, he appreciated my poem too and then I asked him about himself. He told his name as Harish Ramachandaran. I said, “Maine aapka naam kahin suna hai” [I have heard your name before also] but I was not able to recall where. He also didn’t say anything about it. And finally I left saying JGD. On my way back in flight that night, I was reading the book, “The Guru of Joy”, and there his name appeared once again, and then I recalled, “Oh.. he was the CEO of Sumeru Software Solutions and I had read about him in ‘Sri Sri as I know him’ also earlier..” I was amazed by his humbleness, belongingness and simplicity and wished if I could talk more to him. Later on, I wrote him a mail regarding it and he replied too.

With Bau and Dinesh.. & With Vikram Hazara..

Guruji met each and everyone on the last day of my trip.
This trip had been so fulfilling that I was unwilling to come back. Last time when I came to Ashram, I had came perhaps to demand or ask for something from Him, but this time, I came just to be with Him.. and you see.. how He poured His Love upon me? How He left no stone unturned for my happiness? How He fulfilled and even asked for my slightest of desires? Such is His love. Absolutely eternal...

Being in Ashram was like living in a different space of world, where there was so much joy, so much Love, so much celebration, so much peace, so much divinity and that too amid the natural wilderness of unexploited nature. It felt as if nothing is comparable to it. But finally, I had to go. Meeting Guruji once more closely, and waving bye bye.. I finally headed back to Chandigarh, asking Him to meet me again very soon.. and regularly too… J
